Band

Band in LISD offers students an enriched performing arts experience through instrumental Music Education, inclusive of individual and ensemble training on one of ten woodwind and brass instruments (flute, clarinet, saxophone, oboe, bassoon, trumpet, horn, trombone, euphonium, tuba), or percussion (including snare, timpani, and keyboard). Band students may select an instrument and join the band program at the outset of sixth grade, with continued membership and instrumental development affording expanded musical opportunities throughout subsequent years in high school.

NOTE: Students onboard into LISD Band programs in the sixth grade to receive specialized instrumental instruction. Subsequent engagement in the band program includes all woodwind, brass, and percussion instruments in full ensemble settings.
